TOUR CONVIVIUM URBAN FARMSTEADA tour of Convivium Urban Farmstead is an interactive and unique experience that showcases our urban farm and facility, as well as teaches you about our mission and outreach efforts to increase access to healthy food here in the North End of Dubuque, Iowa.
Our walking tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and highlights our three types of gardens where we grow food in our neighbors' backyards both for the restaurant and the community and teaches you the history of the buildings, showing you how the owners transformed abandoned greenhouses into a community resource. You will see our compost operation, meet our backyard chickens, and view a variety of unique, small-space gardening techniques. You will also eat your way through the neighborhood – tasting fresh herbs, cucamelons and cherry tomatoes picked right off the vine, and a variety of other plants that we are growing this year! |
Tours can be modified to be given year-round, but are most interesting (and tasty) during the growing season
(May through September).
