Convivium’s End of the Year Campaign

The holidays are a time of feeling grateful and full – a fullness of both the belly and the heart. At Convivium, we give thanks for these feelings of fullness and for the many times we have come together around food this year. We also understand that many of our community members don’t associate the holidays with this feeling of fullness and experience daily challenges in accessing nutritious foods.

GrateFULL is a campaign to support Convivium Urban Farmstead’s ongoing outreach efforts of providing tools and education about healthy food choices to local kids and adults, especially those struggling with food access or the adverse health effects of a highly processed food diet.

Help us decrease food insecurity in Dubuque.

Did you know?

Did you know that more than 11,000 individuals in Dubuque County are food insecure? And over 3,500 of them are children.

At Convivium, we believe that to decrease food insecurity in our area we need to do more than just provide a family’s next meal. We teach four week, hands-on cooking classes that provide kids and adults with the skills and knowledge to prepare simple meals with real ingredients, on a budget. In 2019 we reached over 90 students with these classes, at no cost to the participant.

In 2020, we are seeking funds to significantly expand our outreach to the food insecure in Dubuque. We are raising $50,000 to help expand both the scope of our existing program and develop new classes based on needs of the community.

Please donate today. Your financial support can significantly change the lives of your neighbors – teaching skills that can not only benefit them individually today, but that can also influence future generations.

Help us reach our goal!
