A sharp knife and strong knife skills can dramatically shorten the time you spend in the kitchen and give you the confidence to tackle any recipe. In this knife skills class, Convivium chef, Saralyn, will take you beyond dicing and julienne, exploring some advanced knife techniques, the best use for different knives, safety, and a demonstration of best practices when conquering those intimidating foods like pineapple and butternut squash. Skills will be put to use making a homemade mirepoix, a flavor base used in a variety of stocks, soups, stews and sauce recipes; which each participant will take home with them! Purchase tickets here.
